They like to weed out what's bad and what's not serving your higher purpose, like many light natured Angels do as well, but they do so with a lot more dedicated intent and not as much 'fluffy' feelings. The old friend who only rings when they need something, the person whose compliments always seem to land right before a favour... he sees through every one of them straight away, and he tells you. Will it sting a bit? Possibly, because a part of you usually suspected already. Does this belong in the life you’re building? He has no trouble being the one to say the answer out loud. And since a Dark Angel isn’t bound to stay on the tidy, righteous side of things, he’ll get his hands dirty when that’s what it takes. When it all gets to be too much he sets a calm bubble around you, a quiet space where the volume drops and your own thoughts come back to their normal size. Your shoulders come down. You can breathe all the way to the bottom of your lungs again. That’s respite, and he gives it freely, as often as you need it, with no sighing and no comment.
