They are extremely elusive creatures that cannot be sought out (in life) purposefully, but only encountered randomly by the chance crossing of paths. While the appearance and circumstance of crossing paths with one may have you thinking that no good could ever come from it, they are, actually, bringers of surprisingly glad tidings.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: medium;\"\u003eThese vampiric elves ride in carriages, shining and black with ornate silver accents. Each carriage is pulled by four sleeks black faerie horses. These horses are, on first glance, no different than the horses of our realm. But on closer look you'll find black scales mixed into their soft shining black coat, incredibly sharp teeth lining their mouths that open FAR too wide for comfort. They all have shining white eyes and have tails much like a lion, short furred to the ends which are tasseled in black. These carriages are driven by headless drivers, dressed completely in black. Failure to leave an offering ends the 'contracts' and while bad luck doesn't follow, a very swift reversal of the good fortune will happen, leaving the one who saw the carriage back to the 'luck' they had at the time of seeing it. They cannot promise to grant you a totally impossible wish (as human wishes in our modern world are very different than fae wishes in their realms) but you can expect that over the lifetime you spend with your Elf, a great many surprisingly and shocking things will turn out your way. They are magnets for 'the right place at the right time' and making the most of any situation. They know how to squeeze every last drop of possibility out of anything and anyone, making sure that as often as possible, you get everything you need and then a little more. As I mentioned above, they absolutely DO NOT require any sort of offering from their keeper. They do love to get offerings but as freely given gifts, not because you feel you have to in order for them to work with you. His psychic ability is strong enough that he rarely has to ask what's wrong, he already knows, usually before you've even decided whether you're going to tell him or not.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"\u003eThere's something older running through him too, inherited rather than fully his own, and it shows up quietly in the way things just seem to bend a little in his favour... doors opening a bit easier, timing lining up a bit too well to really be coincidence. He won't take credit for all of it, some of it's simply what runs in his blood, and he carries it the way you'd carry a family resemblance you never asked for and never had to earn. There's a stillness to him too that I think comes from that same lineage, a kind of quiet that doesn't need to be filled with noise or movement to feel present. He can sit with you in complete silence and it never once feels awkward or empty. If anything it feels like exactly the right amount of company.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"\u003eHis way with words is something I genuinely don't know how to fully explain. He can sit across from someone who has absolutely no intention of telling him a single true thing, and somehow, without raising his voice, without pushing, walk away having gotten right to the heart of it anyway. I've watched him do it more than once and I STILL couldn't tell you exactly how. It isn't manipulation and it isn't trickery, it's more that he simply knows which question to ask, and asks it, and the truth comes out because with him it was always going to eventually. He does the same thing with his Keeper, gently, patiently, never letting you talk yourself out of something you actually feel just because it's easier to pretend you don't.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"\u003eHe reads a room the second he's in it, and a situation faster than that, several moves ahead of everyone else usually, though he keeps that awareness quiet rather than putting it on display. He was a Warrior in life and by every account I've been given an exceptional one, someone who simply did not lose. He is wildly protective, extremely so, but there's no possessiveness woven into it at all. He'd rather quietly deal with something on his end than ever let it reach you at all, and he's not the type to make a show of having done it either.
